Woburn Estate Sale
Saturday, July 19th, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 8 Sturgis Street, Woburn, MA.
Grand Colonial Home in Woburn is the site of our Precision Estate Sales next sale. The PES Crew has been working hard to value-price and stage the wonderful, eclectic collections and items throughout the home. The Homeowners have a done a fair bit of worldwide travel and have brought back great items from across the continents that they are now making available for this great sale.
As PES shoppers enter the home, they are met with a small, yet elegantly decorated foyer, featuring, just the beginning, of the eclectic art collection that can be found throughout the home. Here, we find a collection of Shan-Merry Seri lithographs, signed and numbered, displayed around a small seating area featuring a half-round scroll-leg hall table and two upholstered scroll chairs. On the table is a lovely ballerina sculpture setting just under a large gold leaf mirror.
The art collection, rather than room by room, let's feature some of the art right up front. There are several Alexander Chen pieces - South Beach, Manhattan Celebration, Central Park Winter & Times Square Parade (this writer's personal favorite). Another favorite is by Peter Max, from his Patriotic Series - Two Liberties Flag & Heart. This piece is surrounded by an entire walls cape featuring the following Titles/Artists. Serenity by Gary Benfield, Busy on the Grand Canal by Markovich, My Beloved by Harold Behrens, La Rousse et la Blonde & L'Interieur Ventien 3 Femmes by Mouly.
Additional items of noted artwork include - Walking in the Forest by Dimitri Polak, Village in the Hills & Quiet Town by Slavina Brodsky, L'Escalier a Theoulle by Jean-Claude Picot, Annabella by Linda Kliff, Deep Blue II & Montana Verde by Joan Colomer, just to name a few more. All in all, it's a wonderful collection of artwork from around the world all with provenance and appraisals.
Okay, onto the rest of the great sale items. The vaulted-ceiling family room features a lovely leather living room suite, comprised of a sofa, loveseat & two armchairs. The suite is set around a glass and iron coffee table and a set of round, glass-topped occasional tables. Also here are some great decorative accent pieces, slender floor urns, sconces, decorative vases & pots, a china cabinet full of more items including a Lladro collection, two wicker arm chairs, etc. Avery nice & comfortable space!
Onward, the kitchen and dining nook area feature a glass-topped dining table with straight back upholstered chairs, a KitchenAid Refrigerator, the usual kitchen items, a Fiesta Ware collection, glass & crystal eggs collection, more vases, JOY & PEACE Lettering, microwave, toaster, glassware, cookware and the ever popular flatware.
Also on the 1st level of the great house id the formal dining room that features more incredible original artwork, a carved wool rug, a dining table, a carved wood curio/china cabinet brimming with more Lladro and other desirable collectibles, wood side and accent tables topped with more items - a camel back clock, a Royal Doulton Bone China set - Harlow pattern, small prints & lithographs, two Samurai Warrior statuettes, crystal, glassware, flatware set, a breakfront, lamps, side chairs, a collection of small oriental rugs & runners, a drum table, newspaper ephemera, lamps and so it goes on.
Up to the 2nd level - the Master Bedroom features a large breakfront reclaimed from a Boston hotel. The Homeowners have repurposed it as the centerpiece of the room, as bedside table and an entertainment/storage Armoire. It's ready for a new owner with new ideas for it. Also here is a beautiful inlaid door Armoire that would fit into any decorating scheme. Also a centerpiece is gilt and painted American Eagle wood carving.
We're moving on - Washer & Dryer are for sale. Additional bedrooms feature a 5 piece bedroom set in a rich, dark cocoa, two funky print upholstered armchairs, a Vintage Mahogany Bed, lamps, more original art. Oh, forgot to mention that all attached light fixtures/chandeliers and window treatments throughout the home are available for sale, so don't forgot to ask about those.
The upstairs office features two carved wood desks, two bow-front bookcases w/drawer storage, one has glass doors, a lowboy dresser and as in every room Throughout the home - original art.
Okay, getting ready to wrap up, what did we forget? In the garage is a small snow blower, a used once only lawnmower and a collection of automobile advertising prints. The basement is chock-a-block full of just about everything from Christmas decorations, bikes, lawn furniture (on the deck as well!), lawn & yard tools, shelving units, radial arm saw, hand tools , power tools, stereo equipment. Just about everything that isn't upstairs is here, so come and see what you can find in your own basement treasure hunt!
