Waltham Estate Sale
Saturday, June 14th, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 785 Beaver Street, Waltham, MA.
The Headmaster's House set amid a beautiful campus of this historic Waltham Prep School is the locus of what will be an incredible estate sale by the Precision Estate Sales Team. We have been staging and pricing and we can't wait for this sale to happen on Saturday, June 14th from 8:00AM till 3:00PM. All hands are on deck! The home, built in the 1850's is the perfect backdrop for the family's eclectic collections from around the world.
Not even sure where to start, oh well, here we go. As you enter the home via the grand paneled hallway, shoppers will admire and scoop-up the great Iranian-made hall-runner rug, as well as some beautiful framed art. The home features two living rooms chock-full of furniture, The first, more contemporary-formal with some nice classical touches, including a set of Crate & Barrel armless sofas, a wonderfully comfortable sofa, great coffee table, Danish Modern side chairs, two in suede, two in canvas-duck upholstery, all four are incredibly easy to drift off in. A great rug, several framed silk fabric prints, Empire-Style side table, oak bookcases and a wonderful array of large & lush plants and a large gong round out this space.
The comfortable family room features a great set of Southwest-style tables, a coffee table and two-side/end tables. These complement a matched living room set, a sofa, armchair and ottoman done in a micro suede fabric. Shoppers will also find a Sony Bravia HDTV with stand, a Sony 5.1 Surround System, a gun safe (sorry, no firearms available at the sale), a set of great lamps and more plants available for sale. This room also houses a very cool and extensive Lance Armstrong memorabilia collection. Starting with a signed, frame Tour de France Leader Shirt, a signed helmet and a great collection of Lance Armstrong signed large-format photographs and a lithograph; there is something for all Lance fans & collectors.
As we enter the kitchen & pantry area, the first thing that catches the eye is golden oak finished round oak table with four ladder-back chairs with acorn finials, also featured here are all the kitchen items you will ever need, dishware, flatware, cookware and anything else you might need.
The grandest room in the home, the oak-paneled and coffered ceiling dining room with a classic oak & stained glass built in china cabinet is where there are a plethora of items, new, old, varied, Asian & Middle Eastern. In the center of the room set upon an antique oriental rug is an incredible Danish Modern dining table with eight teak and upholstered chairs. Along the walls and perimeter of this great room are found Asian scrolls, sterling silver pieces (multiple tea sets, Revere bowls, serving pieces, ash trays), Danish Modern buffet, smaller bronze & marble sculptures, plants, paintings, prints two sitars (one a smaller travel model), more bronze and ceramic pieces, cut glass and crystal pieces, sets of china (Havilland Limoges, Johnson Brothers Rose Bouquet), silver and stainless flatware, Roseville Pottery. We're not done in here yet - a Contemporary Maple Grandfather Clock, more original artwork and small sculptures, Hull Port Pottery, a vintage sled, even an anchor, a ton of tea cup sets (two's, four's, sixes), carnival glass, a women's dress form. Seriously, I don't know what isn't in this room!
At this level and on the second floor as well, there are two sun porches chock-a-block with great items - porch rockers, wind chimes, books, bric-a-brac, an antique writing desk, sets of men's & women's golf clubs, office desk & chairs, small electronics, an incredible collection of 78 RPM records, on and on.
On the second and third levels of this grand and classic estate-style home are found rugs, small and large, an incredible Broyhill six piece bedroom suite, a round turned leg table with two side chairs, a unique set of bedside table lamps in metal and ceramic, plants, plants, plants. A second bedroom features a maple sleigh bed, a set of lantern tables with matching cylindrical lamps, a brightly colored, geometric pattern area rug, an antique pine plank painted table, dressers, recliner, a small gong, wooden book cases, tall and short along with a whole lot of books, an Empire-style upholstered chair in need of a little bit of attention, a card table set w/four folding chairs, a set of three drawer Asian-inspired small side chests, a Kettler Speed Bike, a Nashbar bike exercise set-up for a bike.
As we get nearer to the end of the description, in the attic can be found free weights, air conditioners, one of a kind Indian metal travel trunks, duffel bags, ski equipment, a Nordic Trak Ski Machine, camping equipment and I think there may even be a couple of Mid-Century furniture pieces up there as well.
Now all the way back through this house of great items to the basement. The homeowners were avid cyclists and it shows. There are two bike repair stands, a wheel truing stand, many bike tools, bicycle shipping case, and accessories and even a couple of road bikes. Also more camping equipment, coolers, A vintage Coca Cola Ice Cooler, a vintage Mercury wagon, canoe paddles and life jackets (the canoe is outside and also for sale), rooftop cargo carrier, charcoal grills, hand tools, glassware and miscellaneous Pottery Barn serving pieces and dishware.
That's not all there is, BUT I AM DONE! There are so many more items throughout the house, proverbially too many to list . This sale is surely a treasure trove so... Please take my advice - Don't Miss This One!
