Medfield Estate Sale

Come One, Come All! Set amidst the rolling farmlands and planting fields of Medfield we find this stately and grand Colonial home as the setting for what is going to be a great sale on Saturday, June 21^st. The home, elegantly appointed and decorated features just about everything our loyal & newcomer Precison Estate Sales shoppers are seeking.

Beginning in the two story grand entrance, throughout the home and grounds great items abound. A classic half-round hall table, two gold gilt mirrors and oval floral print hooked rug greet all visitors to this beautiful space. Just off the entrance, to the right, is the dining room that features a classic Shaker style dining table in a natural finish, along with a set of eight Windsor Chairs in a natural and black finish. The set is accented by a floral print rug in multiple hues on a black background. The sideboard, also in natural and black finish is a beautiful piece, great to look at and functional as it holds an extensive collection of decorative and functional serving pieces. The last item in the space is a country style hutch with glass doors that houses the homeowner's Noritake Ivory China "Etienne" Collection.

While we're in a dining mode let's move on the daily dining area, just off the kitchen, featured here is an oval pedestal table accented by rush seated chairs, an antique rush seat ladder-back child's chair, a cherry side table, a two drawer pine chest, over which hangs a pine wood mirror.

On to the seating areas. Just to the left of the main entrance is found a cozy and bright living room area. Not stodgy and formal, this space is made complete in a blue and white floral color scheme. Furnishings include a comfortable love seat, an upholstered arm chair with matching ottoman, a classic cherry finish rocker, a pine coffee table with turned legs and spindle rails all set upon a white and blue pattern rug. Rounding out the space is a tallboy country style cabinet/hutch in a beautiful dark wood tone that counterpoints the brightness of the room.

The spacious Family Room is appointed with a lovely mix of fabric, leather and wood that includes two matching sofas in a soft red, two buttery soft leather wingback reclining chairs and an oversized, but not too big, coffee table, all accented by a floral print rug in soft blue tones. The area is made complete by wood side and accessory tables, classic lamps, framed artwork and prints.

The last area of note on the 1st level is the home office that features Aeron-style office chairs, acomfy leather recliner and one of the nicest Claire Murray rugs PES staffers have seen. In tones of black, blue aqua and red with paisley print and floral accents, this rug is a signature piece.

Upstairs or Downstairs? Upstairs, I suppose to see what finds await in the bedrooms. While all the furnishings in the Master are not available, what's there is phenomenal. Another circular rug, with a tasteful floral motif in red and gold tones, framed floral prints, freeform fainting couch in a vibrant red, a natural wood finish drum side table, a chalk finish, six drawer chest, a French Country bedroom set, framed original artwork and prints, as well.

Moving down the hall to the kid's rooms, shoppers will pass decorative prints and artwork along the way. There is also a small sitting room at this level - seating here includes a blue and gold stripe love seat and arm chair set astride an antique pine trunk, also here and upstairs in the finished third floor family room, PES shoppers will find some crafting supplies.

Okay, back to the bedrooms. BR # 1 is a funky mix of classic and contemporary. The classic grand iron bed serves as the centerpiece of the room and is complemented by a contemporary set of black wood, glass and brushed chrome hardware. Accent pieces here include aTimes Square print and a framed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Poster, lamps and a dressing mirror. BR # 2 is awash in white and light green. Painted Country Style furnishings include a dressing table with mirror and upholstered chair, dressing chest, small white dresser and a pastel green wood bed chest.

Before we leave the second level we just want to point out a really cool item, a Mega Seven's Table Top Slot Machine in blue red and chrome. This would be a nice addition to any collection. Moving on to the third floor Family Room that is set off by a bright blue leather sectional, country pine turned leg table with drawer, Sony HDTV, a crafting supply area and whatever we find in the attic space - luggage, tables, more crafting supplies, gif wrap, storage bins, duffle bags, etc.

There's a lot happening and for sale back downstairs in the finished lower level entertainment area. Starting with a collection of framed Medfield Day prints spanning 20 years, to a comfy entertainment room featuring a massive Sony HDTV, comfortable sofa for your viewing pleasure, another fainting couch, this one in a leopard print, records, a pool table, bar area, exercise room and a workshop area with hand tools, more framed prints and home storage items.

We're not done yet. In the garage are all the usual suspects, garden and lawn tools, stepladders, a-decorated Christmas tree, a pine hutch unit and more. The home has a pool house that is stocked with barware, serving pieces and a blender to facilitate poolside entertaining. And you'll have a place to sit and get something to eat as well there is plenty of deck and patio furniture in the pool area, as well as a Weber gas grill. A separate outside storage area holds a Thule Rooftop Cargo Box, bikes, a kayak, hoses and reels, on and on.

I think we might be done for now. It's going to be a great sale, one that you shouldn't miss. PES has two sales on the 21^st - This Medfield sale and our second in Sudbury.
